FT74X plate heat exchanger
Similar to that used by Blue Pacific Flavors is one of Armfield's most versatile pieces of equipment. It allows heat treatment of very small quantities of product (up to 20 liters per hour) with real time data logging providing information for scale up to pilot plant.

It can be configured with either a plate or tubular heat exchanger with the changeover from one to the other being done in a few minutes. It is fully instrumented with the operator being able to set the operating parameters such as flow rate and output temperature.

Other options include two-stage cooling, static mixers and variable holding tubes.

UHT System

Direct steam injection enables higher temperatures to be reached very quickly and then lowered very quickly keeping product out of the flavor and color danger zone.

The Armfield FT74DI direct steam injection UHT unit achieves temperatures of up to 150°C at pressures up to 9 bar and product can be held from two seconds upwards.

Throughput is up to 20 liters per hour. It can process sauces, soups, condiments, confectionery, dairy products, gelatine, ice cream and pharmaceuticals among others.

The major process parameters such as flow rate, pressure and output temperature are all under operator control and real time data logging allows information to be collected for repeatability and scale up.
