Multifunction Process Control Teaching System - PCT40

PCT 40 is the new way to teach a wide variety of process control techniques in a simple basic unit. Options can be added to study more advanced aspects of process control.

PCT 40 is used under computer control to demonstrate a variety of single control loops. It can quickly be reconfigured between processes, such as level control, temperature control, flow control and pressure control. The advanced software allows the student to change the control parameters, record results and analyse the results from different configurations.

Process Plant Trainer - PCT23Mkll

This Process Plant Trainer is a miniature version of a real industrial process, having typical problems of dynamics and stability for which control strategies have to be devised and operated.

The following process characteristics are incorporated:

* multiple inputs
* presence of 'dead time'
* recycling to minimise energy needs
* alarms with corrective actions
* operational sequencing from start-up to shut-down

This Trainer allows the user to investigate various control techniques associated with process plant ranging progressively from single-loop analog control through to multi-loop PLC systems and distributed supervisory control of the whole process by a remote PC.

Industrial PLC - PCT19BR

This industrial PLC controller is based on the Allen Bradley SLC500 with multi-channel analog and digital inputs/outputs, and can be used to demonstrate single or multi-loop control. Serial communications is incorporated.

A range of process control teaching equipment is also available to demonstrate relevant measurement and control experiments using real engineering equipment.

The Armfield range is designed on a building-block approach, which ensures that experimental set-ups can be assembled to meet individual course requirements.

Each practical work study system consists of a bench top process demonstration unit, and a control console that contains the power supplies and interfacing for all measurement and actuation signals. Industrial controllers are available as accessories to further develop the practical instruction courses possible.

Industrial PID Controller - PCT20H

Based on the widely used Honeywell UDC3000 controller, this industrial PID controller has facilities for both voltage and current inputs and outputs, thermocouple input, alarm, delay outputs and serial communications.

Armfield Software

Armfield equipment can usually be connected to a PC running Windows via an interface device. The software is designed to run exclusively on Armfield machines and is aimed at allowing students and teachers to get the maximum benefit from time spent in the laboratory.
